The Hut of the Crone

This the hut of Baba Yaga, the old witchy crone from Russian folklore. I've always been fascinated with witchcraft and folktales, and I wanted to make a piece highlighting one of the original witches!

This piece was originally inspired by this work of art by Anastasia Ermakova: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/aqXnL. After getting everything into Unreal and matching the reference, I decided to add my own story to the scene to make it more of an environment you might find in a game! I wanted more visual interest to draw the eye around the scene.

Modeled base models in Maya, took some into Zbrush to get better details and organic shapes, textured in Substance Painter, some Substance Designer, Photoshop and even some ProCreate. Everything rendered in Unreal Engine.

A huge thank you to the friends who helped me and gave me feedback while I was working on this! Quarantine and life in general has been pretty up and down, so your constant support has been lovely :)
